This past Friday night, I attended our favorite local auction, Auction Liquidators.  Disclaimer: This auction is run by relatives of my wife, Suzie.  Auctions are in her blood.  Her cousin Johnny has carried on the family business in West Palm Beach.  Suzie also has aunts and an uncle who work at this auction.

Up for auction on Friday was 7 dinner plates by Rosenthal of Germany.  Somebody opened the bidding at $5 for all 7 plates.  I jumped in at $10.  The initial bidder raised the bid to $15.  When I raised to $20, the other person backed out.  Nobody else entered the fray, and I had the plates at a final cost of $20.

I love it when something artistic is coupled with something functional.  Such is the case for dinnerware designed by Lynn Chase Designs.  Lynn Chase is a New York artist who developed a line of home goods that reflect her artistic abilities.

Chase is a self-taught artist who was influenced by her grandmother.  She has been on seven safaris, traveled extensively in Africa and resided on the continent for a few years.  The African wildlife she observed is vividly displayed in her dinnerware.

Recently we found items from two of her dinnerware lines.  We are glad that we did.  Here are the items we have sold recently.

You are probably familiar with the name Ralph Lauren.  You are also probably familiar with the brand Polo.  When we begin branching into selling clothing, we knew we wanted to take advantage of the quality and the popularity of Ralph Lauren’s products.

We discovered that Ralph Lauren is simply the umbrella name.  Various style names exist.  The company also uses various label colors to differentiate the levels of their clothing.

We have found that some styles sell better than others on eBay.  Sellers will find that some label colors and style names will sell quicker and for more money than will others.

One of our favorite style names to sell is the Ralph Lauren Blake.  In the past few weeks, we have sold four of these shirts for a healthy return on our investment.  We pay between $1 to $4 for these shirts.  Here are the ones we have sold recently.

Do you like hotcakes?  Who doesn’t?

Selling hotcakes is another matter.  Most people who eat hotcakes eat them in the early morning.  So people who sell hotcakes have to rise before the sun to make them.

Some of these early risers obviously have sold quite a few hotcakes.  We relate items that sell well to hotcakes.  ”They (whatever) sell like hotcakes” is a part of our vernacular.

So what sells like hotcakes?  More importantly to our business is, “What sells like hotcakes online?”
