I just hope the FedEx guy in this video never delivers any of my packages.  The package in the video is a clearly identified video monitor.  The customer indicated that he was home at the time with his door open.

Having a business that I run out of my house puts me in control of most aspects of my business.  I sell what I want to sell.  I design my own listings.  I personally interact with my customers.  I package my products.

One of the few areas in which that control is forfeited is in the shipping of the products.  Businesses like mine have to depend on the package shipment companies.  We rely on these companies to earn the money we pay them to transport and deliver our products to our customers.  I primarily use the US Postal Service.  I also use UPS when shipping items to Amazon’s warehouses.

I have not yet used FedEx and the following video does not encourage me to do so.  Every once in a while, I do have a problem with the USPS.  I once had a package returned to me that looked as if it had been used as a soccer ball at the company picnic.

In fact, one of my pet peeves regards insurance.  I do insure some packages, but not most.  Why should I have to pay extra to insure that the company I hired does their job properly?

Can you imagine other industries adopting this practice.  Even the airline folks who charge extra for everything have not resorted to charging passengers for insurance to make sure they get dropped off at the correct city.

FedEx authorities have indicated that this situation will be handled.  Anything less than this man being terminated will not be acceptable.
