When we ship items that have been purchased from us on ebay, we always include an invoice/packing slip in the package. Recently we learned that we could turn this normal business practice into a profitable activity.
We use AdShip: Ad Supported Shipping. This is an application available to ebay sellers. Here are the basics of how the application works. And it does work (see the picture of the $50 check we received this week).
- AdShip pulls the USPS tracking information from our shipping purchases.
- AdShip selects a paying advertiser to place on ad on your invoice.
- If the seller so desires, the advertising partner can be changed.
- We print the invoice from the application.
- At the bottom of the invoice is a nice looking advertisement. It is not too large to take away from your own information.
- AdShip credits our account about $0.20 for the advertisement. Prices may vary based on the ad. The shipper will know the price before printing.
- When the account reaches $50, we email AdShip for a check release.
- About 10 days later, the check is in hand.
$50 for doing what I would be doing anyway. If you are a seller, you should be using this application. Not only is this free, but you will get paid for using the application.
